Top 3 Hacks For Organizing Purses

Closets can be complex to organize because each item has its own way of being stored!

Clients often ask us: how do I fold or hang this sweater? Should I store my jeans in a drawer or on a shelf? Where do I put my accessories?

And of course - what’s the BEST way to store my purses? Truthfully, it’s all about what works best for you and your space! Read on for the top three ways we love to organize purses.

Hang On Purse Hooks

professional organizer shows how to organize purses and handbags on purse hooks in closet.

If you have a lot of space in your closet and love to rotate your favorite bags, this ones for you!

Hang purse hooks on a closet rod and place your favorite bags on display for quick access. This works best for larger bags with short handles. In this closet we used acrylic purse hooks, but metal ones can be an easy, affordable option as well.

Make sure the bags have breathing room (not too closely packed!) so they don’t get squished and can keep their shape.

Stuff Purses & Display On Shelves

organize purses by stuffing them and displaying on shelves in closet.

Worried about your handbags getting squished or not keeping their shape? There’s an easy solution - and you probably have all the items at home to do it!

Handbags can be a big investment, and this organization hack helps them stay in great shape while being displayed. This is for you if you want your closet to look beautiful and your bags displayed like pieces of art.

Our preferred method is to take ziplock bags and stuff them with packing paper. Place a few of these into each bag, depending on size, to keep them stuffed and in proper shape. This way, you can easily grab out the ‘stuffing’ and use your bag.

Another option is to use the dust bags that come with purses and shoes to stuff your bags - this is a similar option and great if you have a lot of dust bags taking up space in your closet.

Short on space but still want to display a few of your favorite purses? Create a display + storage by stuffing them with smaller bags or seasonal items like scarves and hats.

Store Purses in Organizer or Basket

store purses in clutch organizer and baskets.

With smaller bags or ones that you don’t use often, proper storage is a must.

We love a clutch organizer for keeping small bags upright and easily accessible. It also makes it easy to see which ones you have when it comes to getting ready or prepping for an event.

For bags you don’t use as often, a basket or bin might be the way to go. This is a great way to store a seasonal purse or expensive bag as it can protect them from getting dusty. Make sure to label the bin so you know what’s inside it.
